The Vivo X series is a flagship lineup of smartphones known for its Zeiss camera system. Last year's X200 series was introduced initially with three models: the vanilla X200, the X200 Pro Mini, and the X200 Pro. However, the company has confirmed that there will be no 'Pro Mini' model in the successor series. Instead, Vivo is replacing the X300 Pro Mini with the standard X300.
Ahead of the launch, Vivo Vice President Huang Tao has revealed the highlights of the X300 and has compared it to last year's X200 Pro Mini.
In the camera department, the Vivo X300 is said to feature a 200MP primary sensor, a Zeiss APO telephoto lens and a 50MP selfie camera. Meanwhile, the X200 Pro Mini had a 50MP primary camera and a 32MP selfie camera. The X300 will also support 10-bit Log recording.
Vivo claims improved stabilization and steadier video capture on the X300, along with support for 4K 120fps video recording. By contrast, the X200 Pro Mini supports a maximum of 4K 60fps video recording. Additionally, the X300 features a newer in-house imaging chip, the V3+, compared to the V2 on the X200 Pro Mini.
The X300 is confirmed to feature the latest Dimensity 9500 chipset. According to MediaTek, the new chipset delivers up to 32% faster single-core performance and about 17% higher multi-core performance than its predecessor, which powered the X200 Pro Mini.
In terms of design, the X300 is thinner, at 7.95 mm, whereas the X200 Pro Mini was 8.15 mm thick. Both phones have a 6.31-inch screen. However, the X300's display features 1.05 mm symmetrical bezels. Moreover, it supports a minimum brightness of 1 nit and dual PWM and DC dimming for eye comfort. Apart from the standard X300, Vivo will also launch the X300 Pro.
