The Epic Games Store is releasing all Kingdom Hearts games (across various collections) for the PC on March 30. The games appear to be direct ports from the respective console versions.

Kingdom Hearts is one of the most ambitious RPG series to come from Square Enix, but its reach has been limited by its exclusivity to consoles (and primarily those from Sony). However, PC gamers will have the chance to dive into the mix of Disney and JRPG on March 30th.

The Epic Games store will launch four titles and collections that encompass the entirety of the Kingdom Hearts series. The titles (and games they include) are:

  • Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, which includes:

    • Kingdom Hearts 1 FINAL MIX
    • Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories
    • Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD Remastered cinematics)
    • Kingdom Hearts II FINAL MIX
    • Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final MIX
    • Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (HD Remastered cinematics)

  • Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, which includes:

    • Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD
    • Kingdom Hearts χ (Chi) Back Cover (a movie)
    • Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep - A fragmentary passage

  • Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC)
  • Kingdom Hearts III Melody of Memory (a rhythm game)

It looks like the games will be direct ports of their console equivalents with no changes or updates to graphics, gameplay, or cinematics. As such, the games will run on fairly modest hardware. For instance, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, which is based on the PlayStation 3 version, needs only an Intel Core i3-3210 or AMD A8-7600, 4 GB of RAM, and either an Nvidia GeForce GT 730 or AMD Radeon R7 240 (2 GB VRAM) GPU.

Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind (DLC) is the most demanding title of the four, requiring at a minimum an Intel Core i5-3330 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200, 8 GB RAM, and either an Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 or AMD Radeon R7 260X (2 GB VRAM or more) GPU. The developer recommends an Intel Core i5-7500 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 CPU and either an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 (8 GB) or AMD Radeon RX Vega 56 (8 GB) GPU.

The games will be available on March 30, 2021, exclusively through the Epic Games Store. Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX will cost US$49.99, while the other three games will cost $59.99.

Can’t wait for the PC port? Buy Kingdom Hearts III for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One.
