Deal | The Evil Within 2 and Tandem: A Tale of Shadows are now freely available from Epic

At the end of 2018, specifically between December 12 and December 27, Subnautica became the first freebie offered by Steam's competitor Epic Games Store, released on December 6. Ever since, this video game digital distribution service has provided its users with many free games, including highly-acclaimed titles such as Metro 2033 Redux, Just Cause 4, Civilization VI, Grand Theft Auto V, Torchlight 2, Hitman, NBA 2K21, Europa Universalis IV, Total War: Warhammer, BioShock: The Collection, and the list could go on. Now, the time has come for two new freebies, namely The Evil Within 2 and Tandem: A Tale of Shadows.

The Evil Within 2 comes to complement its predecessor, which was offered for free last week by Epic Games. This game provides an intense survival horror experience and arrived in October 2017. The public and the press praised The Evil Within 2 for the gameplay and visual experience, but it also drew some negative comments for the story and characters. In addition to Windows, the game launched for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles.

The second freebie available to grab until November 2 on the Epic Games Store is also a title well received by the public and critics. Released at the end of October 2021, Tandem : A Tale of Shadows is a puzzle platformer that aims to redefine the genre with "exceptional aesthetics" and an unique gameplay that takes advantage of a top-down and side-scrolling approach. Console gamers can also enjoy this title on the Sony Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One.

Until November 2, Steam users can get The Evil Within 2 for 85% less than the US$39.99 list price, which goes down to US$5.99. Tandem : A Tale of Shadows, on the other hand, has no discount. However, the base game can be acquired for a mere US$9.99 (or US$11.68 when the soundtrack is also included and the bundle gets a 10% discount).
