The Epic Games Store is giving away Control for free
After Among Us and Frostpunk, Epic Games is all set to give away yet another massively popular AAA title in its weekly giveaway. This time around, it is Remedy Entertainment's Control. The listing is now official on the Epic Game Store. Thankfully, reserving a copy is as simple as clicking a few buttons on the Epic Games Store. No mandatory 2FA (two-factor authentication) activation is required this time around. As always, the game will be yours to keep forever once redeemed.
Control is relatively old at this point and already available on subscription services such as the Xbox Game Pass. It will remain free on the Epic Games Store till June 17. Thankfully, the platform seems to be holding its own this time around. Then again, Control isn't nearly as popular as GTA V, so not a whole lot of people will queue up to grab their free copy.
It is also worth noting that you get the vanilla version of Control. In addition, the game has two single-player DLCs, "The Foundation" and "AWE". Fans of Remedy's Alan Wake franchise will find the latter to be interesting, as it weaves events from the Alan Wake games into the Control universe. It is an excellent title to witness what Nvidia's raytracing is all about. That being said, Control runs reasonably well on older hardware, too.
