BioShock: The Collection is the latest freebie on Epic Games
After Borderlands 3, the Epic Games Store comes up with another excellent freebie, namely BioShock: The Collection. Although it has been around since September 2016 and brings together a trio of games released between 2007 and 2013, this package is still worthy of attention in 2022, especially for those who are still strangers to the BioShock universe.
BioShock: The Collection includes new effects and higher-resolution textures, content that was originally released as exclusive or downloadable content packs (including BioShock 2: Minerva's Den and BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea), but lacks the multiplayer component of BioShock 2. A director's commentary called Imagining BioShock has also been added.
The list of minimum system requirements for Windows users is more than decent by today's standards: Intel E6750 Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz / AMD Athlon X2 2.7 GHz processor, 4 GB of memory, 30 GB storage space, and a 2GB AMD Radeon HD 7770 / 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 video card.
The next Epic Games freebie will be unveiled on Thursday/Friday (depending on the time zone). As usual, the user only needs to add the freebie to the library (no installation is required), and the game will remain there even after the promotion ends. The BioShock games that are part of the collection are currently available on Steam only individually, for a total price of over US$60.
