Borderlands 3 is free on Epic Games until Thursday
Now available for a wide range of platforms, namely Windows/macOS/PlayStation 4/Xbox One (13 September 2019), Stadia (17 December 2019), Xbox Series X/S (10 November 2020), and PlayStation 5 (12 November 2020), Borderlands 3 is not a classic title yet, but has became a temporary freebie last Friday. Unfortunately, only Windows and macOS gamers can take advantage of this promotion, which takes place on the Epic Games Store.
Unsurprisingly, the version that is freely available for those who have an Epic Games account (free to get for new users, of course) until May 26 at 5 PM CEST is the base game. Borderlands 3 is an AAA title with a regular price of US$59.99, but those who want to get everything out of it (and support the game's makers in the process as well) can buy one of the paid DLCs and special editions available. Their list is quite long and includes the Super Deluxe Edition, Ultimate Edition, Season Pass Bundle, Multiverse Disciples of the Vault Amara Cosmetic Pack, Multiverse Disciples of the Vault Zane Cosmetic Pack, Guns, Love, and Tentacles The Marriage of Wainwright & Hammerlock, Psycho Krieg and the Fantastic Fustercluck, and more.
Earlier this month, Take-Two revealed that Borderlands 3 sales exceeded 15 million copies so far. The game won the "Best Multiplayer Game" award at Gamescom 2019, as well as the public's picks for the Best Art Direction, Best Game Design, and Best User Experience at the 2020 Webby Awards. This Thursday evening (Friday in some time zones), the Epic Games Store should replace Borderlands 3 with another freebie, whose name has not been revealed yet.
