The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 emerges in pre-release reservations-page form
March 18, 2019 is shaping up to be a busy name for Xiaomi and its various sub-brands. The latest phone from Redmi, the 7, is scheduled for release on that day. Furthermore, the 2019 Black Shark may also be launched then. This new generation of the OEM's gaming phone is reported to be enhanced for this application with the Snapdragon (SD) 855 and an improved cooling system.
The Chinese online retailer JD.com (or Jingdong) has prepared for this event by creating a page on which Black Shark fans can reserve their new phones ahead of time. However, it does not specify the new phone's price, which is something the relevant rumor mill has not covered very well. In addition, the page does not offer an insight into the product's specs, besides confirming the presence of the SD 855.
This phone is rumored to come with up to 12GB of RAM, a detail that has recently been backed up with Geekbench database entries. It was also teased in a recent YouTube video, which showcased its ability to run PUBG. This preliminary demonstration appeared to show a nearly full-screen display with a minimal, balanced chin and forehead. A fingerprint scanner was not evident on this panel, suggesting that it is either rear-mounted in this phone, or is integrated into the display like that of the Mi 9.
