Immediately after Xiaomi teased the release date for the Black Shark 2 gaming phone, the model allegedly got tested in Geekbench. As far as hardware specs go, the alleged Black Shark 2 appears to feature the same configuration as the original Black Shark and the Geekbench scores are very similar, as well. Alternatively, the Geekbench model could be the international edition of the original Black Shark that will be launched soon.
The first version of the Black Shark released earlier this year came with an overclocked Snapdragon 845 SoC, 8 GB of RAM and Android 8.1, and it looks like Xiaomi will be keeping these specs on the second version, as well. Or maybe the model tested on Geekbench is actually the international edition of the first Black Shark phone that should be released soon. As far as test scores are concerned, the alleged Black Shark 2 seems to be on par with the first version, which comes as no surprise due to the identical specs.
It is unclear what Xiaomi is trying to achieve with a phone that is very similar to the first version, if this is indeed the second version. An international edition would be more plausible here, but we’ll have to wait for the official reveal of the second version in order to get a confirmation.
