The Black Shark is Xiaomi's take on a gaming phone. It is powered by up-to-date hardware, although it lacks a headphone jack. Xiaomi has announced that it will release this phone into the European market on November 16.

The Black Shark is Xiaomi's first gaming phone. It was released in April 2018 and, accordingly, is powered by the Snapdragon 845, up to 8 GB RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. It has a number of gamer-y features, such as a breathing RGB-lit rear-facing logo, stereo speakers and a 18:9 aspect-ratio 5.99-inch screen. On the other hand, the device has a display's resolution of 1080x2160, it still runs Android 8.1 and lacks a headphone jack.

However, Xiaomi appears confident enough in its 'gaming phone' that its availability is being expanded to European markets. It will be sold in every EU country via the company's own website from November 16. With the plug-and-play controller that comes free in the phone's box, the Xiaomi Black Shark may be able to compete well in the gaming-phone space in a market that has access to the Razer Phone 2, but not the ASUS ROG phone.

At this point, there is no information on the Black Shark's pricing when it will be released to European customers. Our best guess is that this may be equivalent to its current price of about US$499 in other markets.
