The Black Shark series, Xiaomi's take on the gaming phone, is set to be refreshed with a second generation to be released shortly. A new leak shows a phone that resembles the phone as shown in its TENAA certification. It shows the back of the device only, which appears to house a logo with RGB, as well as an interesting side accent, which is also lit up.
The Black Shark 2 is Xiaomi's second attempt at a gaming phone. Its predecessor was only available in Asia; however, hopes that this generation will be released more globally still abound at this point. On the other hand, the only certification associated with the Black Shark 2 is that of the Chinese TENAA agency.
A new leak showing more details of the phone's probable design may keep some Android gaming fans' enthusiasm for this device high, however. It shows a phablet with the Black Shark logo lit up with RGB LEDs. If it holds true, this may help the Black Shark 2 keep step with more established game-centric phones such as the Razer Phone 2.
However, unlike that recent release, the 'Black Shark 2' also has RGB strips running down either side of the device. This is probably just an interesting flair, but may also possibly indicate a feature like HTC's Edge Sense. Either way, it still remains to be seen if the Black Shark 2 will even make it out of China this time.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
