Bethesda has finally shown off the Unreal Engine 5 powered remaster of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. As is the case with every game using that engine, its requirements are on the higher end. But, Bethesda somehow got the game to run on a Steam Deck. While the official Steam listing doesn't explicitly state that, looking at it via a Steam Deck shows a green check mark, indicating it is verified.
A cursory glance at its minimum requirements reveals The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion needs an AMD Ryzen 5 2600X/Intel Core i7-6800K CPU and a Radeon RX 5700/GeForce GTX 1070 Ti graphics card as a bare minimum, along with 16 GB of RAM. This is slightly more powerful than the hardware found on the Steam Deck, but a few tweaks here and there should get you to a playable 30 FPS.
That figure can likely be pushed higher with FSR and third-party tools like Decky Frame Gen or Lossless Scaling. But the biggest problem will be its 120 GB of precious SSD space, meaning you might have to get rid of some games to make room for Oblivion. Either way, the fact that Bethesda got it up and running on the Steam Deck is an impressive feat, and it'll be interesting to see how it actually performs.
