"Here we are, 20 years later." says Todd Howard as the livestream officially started. Before officially revealing any details, the team took time to reminisce on how impactful and meaningful the original release was back when it first released. Before long, the opening scene of the original appears on-screen, before showing the remastered scene comparison.
"Whether you're reliving these moments, or experiencing them for the first time. The world of Oblivion Remastered immediately looks and feels incredible. When we decided to remaster Oblivion we were really picky about finding the right partner. From the very beginning of this project we had one rule: We weren't going to do this if weren't going to be able to do it right." says Tom Mustaine, external projects and studio director.
The remaster contains all add-ons from the original game, including both 'Knight's of the Nine' and 'Shivering Isles' meaning all who buy the game have access to all of Oblivion's content. There are many changes from the original to the remaster. Virtuos specifically calling out both the improved visuals made from the ground up, in addition to the improved combat, making it more dynamic and modern compared to the original game.
Oblivion is now available on Xbox Series X | S, Steam, PS5, and Xbox Game Pass.
