The Best Tablets for Less Than 300 Euros
Even after all these years Apple’s iPad remains the star in the tablet segment. However, the price point of entry has been lowered substantially over the years, among others thanks to the competition introduced by East Asian OEMs. Granted, the best tablets (see our other Top 10 lists) are still priced at $400 or above. However, there are quite a few exciting entry-level tablets perfectly capable of satisfying average users.

Editors' Comments
While there are mainly expensive devices from Apple and Samsung in our Tablet Charts, various manufacturers are represented in the entry-level segment. These include exotic species from the Far East as well as cheap devices from known brands. Two sizes dominate: about 8-inches and about 10-inches. Since the tablet market is shrinking more and more, we do not update this top list monthly but will update it quarterly.
This month, we welcome the affordable MatePad T8 on this list.
1st – Lenovo Tab P11 Plus
Based on its price the Lenovo Tab P11 Plus offers a great overall package. The aluminum case which it shares with the P11 makes for a high-quality touch and feel, and thanks to its contact pins the device supports an optional keyboard cover.
The Lenovo Tab P11 Plus is a very good tablet for users on a tight budget.
It is compatible with the Lenovo Precision Pen 2, features a good-looking 2K IPS display, and a total of four speakers making this a very good yet still affordable tablet. Long battery life and adequate everyday performance are the icing on the cake.
The device is available among others through Amazon with prices in the US starting at $340.

2nd – realme Pad
The realme Pad is an affordable tablet with a low weight housed inside a high-quality all-metal case that remained fairly cool even under load. Its performance is adequate, its Wi-Fi performed as expected for its class, and LTE is optionally available as well.
The realme Pad is an affordable lightweight tablet with a good price-performance ratio and great connectivity.
Long battery life and its four speakers ensure great everyday usability, as does its bright 10.4-inch display with its wide color gamut. At both front and back we find an 8 MP camera that performed well enough for occasional snapshots.
The realme Pad is currently not available in North America.

3rd – Nokia T20
The Nokia T20 is Nokia’s re-entry into the tablet market space. Its case is made of metal. It feels very comfortable and is IP52 certified against ingress of dust and water. LTE is optionally available.
The Nokia T20 is a well-made mid-range IP52-certified tablet.
In addition to its pure flavor of Android, it comes with usable speakers as well as Nokia’s promise of update support for several years. Its camera performs well enough for occasional snapshots and even features an LED flash. If you want to use this tablet for streaming you should keep in mind that it is not Widevine L1 certified, which means it is limited to just 480p when streaming DRM-encrypted videos such as e.g. Netflix contents.
The device is available among others through Amazon at a price of just $250.

4th – Lenovo Tab P11
The Tab P11 is another good all-rounder made by Lenovo. Despite its low price it manages to offer a well-made IP52-certified and grippy 11-inch case with a bright flicker-free 2K IPS display, four speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a powerful battery that can hold up all day long even under intensive use.
The Lenovo Tab P11 offers a surprising number of features at an affordable price tag, and it is fast enough for everyday tasks and challenges.
The Lenovo Tab P11 is a family-friendly multimedia tablet, which means that it comes with a kid’s mode in addition to its already built-in user account management features. Optional extras for this 11-inch tablet include a docking keyboard (around $100) and Lenovo’s Precision Pen 2 stylus.
At the time of writing, the Tab P11 was not yet available through the usual retail channels (Amazon, Best Buy, etc.) but only via Lenovo’s own webstore.

5th – Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (2021)
The Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus (2021) is a good-looking “shopping tablet” geared towards media consumption within Amazon’s own universe. Its display, SoC, and memory are adequate for simple and undemanding applications, particularly the many Amazon apps. Browsing the web is also a no-brainer. We would have preferred for the display to be a bit brighter but at the end of the day it is decent enough considering the tablet’s price point.
The Fire HD 10 Plus is geared mainly towards Amazon customers who like and value the highly customized operating system.
A 64 GB storage option is available should 32 GB of internal storage not suffice. The device also includes a microSD card slot as well as a 3.5-mm headphone jack and last but not least a USB-C port on the side. It supports the same wireless charging standard as the Fire HD 8 Plus tablet.
The Fire HD 10 Plus is only available on Amazon with prices starting at $180.

6th – Teclast T40 Plus
The Teclast T40 Plus is an affordable tablet for simple everyday tasks. Its build quality is decent overall but far from perfect, as the shifted rear camera sensor on our review unit bears proof of. It comes with a headphone jack, 128 GB of internal storage, and LTE but not much else.
Thanks to its good display, its long battery life, and its low price the Teclast T40 turned out to be an overall well-usable tablet for everyday tasks.
Its very good battery life and its bright PWM-free and color-accurate display make this a great daily driver well suitable for people with sensitive eyes. Should you need more internal storage fear not as storage can be expanded via microSD.
Teclast tablets are few and far between in North America, and the T40 Plus is no exception as it is currently not available at all.

7th - Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is a small multimedia tablet offering more than its price tag of less than $200 promises. Among others, it offers a high-contrast display, Dolby Atmos speakers with solid yet slightly weak sound, good battery life, and a kids mode that turns this into a great family tablet.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is an affordable 8-inch tablet for browsing the web and multimedia applications that can handle a few games in-between as well.
Its MediaTek MT8768T SoC offers average performance, which becomes painfully obvious when gaming. Nevertheless, its low-resolution display does allow some games to run smoothly. The low price did require various compromises when designing and equipping the tablet. Despite a well-working GPS modem the tablet’s screen is too dim making it very hard to use outdoors. In addition, its internal 32 GB storage is not particularly large but can thankfully be expanded via microSD card.
The Galaxy Tab A7 is available among others on Amazon and currently sells for $130.

8th – Medion LifeTab E10802
The Medion LifeTab E10802 may not flawless but it does offer a solid package. Its display is bright enough for everyday use and offers a high pixel density. Its speakers perform admirably and well enough, and its front-facing camera performs well enough for video chats. Produtivity is further enhanced by the included keyboard cover.
The LifeTab E10802 is an overall well-balanced and well-rounded package at an attractive price point.
It also offers a good battery life, 3 GB of RAM, 64 GB of internal storage, a built-in LTE modem, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5-mm headphone jack. Its performance is sufficient for entry-level users, and it is capable of running everyday apps or displaying multimedia contents smoothly.
Medion devices are not available in North America.

9th – Alcatel 3T 10
The Alcatel 3T 10 left an overall good impression but it also requires a certain amount of willingness to compromise. Its built-in LTE modem and long battery life allow for all-day mobility. However, its low-resolution display is too dim for outdoor use.
The Alcatel 3T 10 4G (2020) offers a long battery life and LTE at an affordable price.
The tablet is nowhere near powerful enough for demanding games and more suited as portable office tablet with 4G connectivity for simple administrative tasks. It supports storage expansion via microSD card and comes with a 3.5-mm headphone jack.
The Alcatel 3T 10 is available among others on Amazon with prices starting at slightly over $180.

10th – Chuwi HiPad Plus
The Chuwi HiPad Plus is a tablet with high-resolution 2K display in a solid and nicely designed aluminum case. Its hardware is powerful enough for simple applications and befitting of its low price. It offers decent speakers and is thus well-suited for streaming videos or browsing the web.
Chuwi’s HiPad Plus is a solid alternative to Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A-series and a major upgrade when compared to the HiPad (2019) in regard to display quality and performance.
It has a USB-C port and a microSD card reader but lacks a 3.5-mm headphone jack, GPS, and am ambient brightness sensor. If you don’t mind these omissions you can purchase the well-made tablet among others on Amazon.
