January typically features enticing OLED TV deals, and 2026 looks like no exception. 77-inch mid-range targets like the LG C5 are now available for historic low Amazon sale prices. As a versatile option for gamers and movie buffs, this WOLED panel is now even more desirable.

Amazon has the LG C5 listed for $1,641.49, the steepest discount on the OLED TV to date. If stock runs out, Walmart and Best Buy offer the set at similar prices, with free wall mounting for some buyers.

WOLED advantages

Bolstered by black levels that hold up in brighter rooms, the LG TV was already a strong value compared to the Samsung S90F. The polarizer layer, a perk of WOLED technology, preserves high contrast ratios. Wide viewing angles also ensure that picture quality doesn’t degrade in any seating arrangement. However, its maximum brightness still falls short of that of the QD-OLED competition.

The LG C5 ships with four HDMI 2.1 ports, providing enough bandwidth to support a maximum 144Hz refresh rate. That allows the OLED TV to thrive as a massive display for console and PC gaming. The Rtings review of the C5 measured low input lag, minimizing the latency that competitive gamers avoid. Its WebOS smart TV functions include Xbox Cloud Gaming, eliminating the need for extra components.

Another OLED TV that looks better than it sounds

Another advantage of the 4K TV discounted at Amazon over Samsung rivals is Dolby Vision support. On the other hand, its audio capabilities may disappoint listeners. The 40-watt speakers don’t impress, particularly for a generously sized 77-inch model. The manufacturer also discontinued DTS audio passthrough on its 2025 lineup.

The sound package of the LG OLED TV doesn’t measure up to the Sony Bravia 8, which can better replicate a soundbar. Nevertheless, it has few other shortcomings, particularly for buyers without light-controlled spaces.
