Deal | Bargain hunters can now save $1,700 on the affordable 77-inch LG B5 OLED TV with 120 Hz refresh rate

The LG B5 is a pretty decent entry-level OLED TV. The well-specced TV can be found with generous discounts every now and then, making the product even more affordable. As of right now, the 77-inch LG B5 can be purchased for an all-time low price on Best Buy's online store, at just under $1,300 for a limited time.

According to RTINGS' detailed review of the LG B5, the OLED TV performs admirably well in many aspects. For instance, the panel boasts true blacks, allowing for a nearly infinite contrast ratio. Response times are near-instant, and the B5's color reproduction prowess is commendable. The TV's color gamut does suffer a bit in HDR mode, although accuracy remains on par with the best.

The LG B5 sports 120 Hz refresh rate and fast response times 

Gamers will also find the 120 Hz refresh rate quite promising, compounded by the TV's minimal input lag and the aforementioned near-instant response times. Brightness performance is quite poor, however, reaching a maximum of just 181 nits of full-screen brightness. Smaller areas fare better, with the WOLED panel peaking at over 800 nits in a 10% window and 565 nits in a 25% window.

This allows small details to pop, although using the LG B5 in a brightly lit room might not be a pleasing experience. Folks who prioritize brightness will either have to go the mini LED route, or shell out extra for the LG C5 (currently $1,694 on Amazon). Moreover, while the TV's viewing angles are excellent, its reflection handling is not nearly as good.

A total of four HDMI 2.1 ports are present, as well 100 Mbps Ethernet, dual USB ports, and optical audio output. There were no complaints regarding the LG B5's overall build quality. While some people may be perfectly satisfied with LG's WebOS interface, others may find the lack of Google TV support to be a drawback.

The LG B5 OLED TV has a lot going for it

At its current all-time low price on Best Buy, there is no doubt that the 77-inch LG B5 OLED TV packs plenty of value for folks on the lookout for a capable and large OLED TV with good performance. While brightness enthusiasts may be put off by the panel's performance, those with lower expectations will find the picture quality to be perfectly honorable.
