Sony launches its latest flagship Blu-ray player
Sony has released the UBP-X1100ES, its latest and possibly most powerful 4K/UHD Blu-ray player. It supports high dynamic range (HDR) content, along with Dolby Vision; Dolby Atmos; DTS:X; 4K upscaling to a maximum of 60p, and the state-of-the-art BT.2020 color spaces. Sony claims that this will help the user get all the detail and depth out of their given physical media.
The UBP-X1100ES also boasts a range of connectivity options. It has separate video & audio HDMI inputs at the rear, along with analog audio 2-channel, optical audio and coaxial SPDIF audio outputs. It also has a USB port at the front, as well as one for Ethernet.
Sony also claims that the UBP-X1100ES supports IP Control over a CAT-5 cable or wirelessly. It also handles RS232C two-way control, infra-red-in, a web browser interface and the cloud-based ihiji4 network management solution often necessary for custom installers to conduct remote maintenance.
These various options may allow the user or installer in question to connect the Sony UBP-X1100ES to any entertainment system. This new 4K Blu-ray player is on sale on platforms such as Amazon.com for an SRP of US$599.
