Simply NUC is expanding its silent mini PC portfolio with the extremeEDGE Server lineup that includes the 1000-series powered by Intel’s N5015 or N100 processors, as well as the 2000 plus the 3000-series powered by AMD’s Phoenix-U and Hawk Point-U APUs. These models take advantage of the Nano-BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) technology by allowing for remote monitoring and system management of powerful fanless servers at the extreme edge. Some of the features included with the Nano-BMC interface include remote console access over IP, remote power management, virtual drive creation and easy firmware upgrades.
The top-of-the-line extremeEDGE 3000-series can be equipped with either an AMD Ryzen embedded V3C18l processor, or the newer Ryzen 7 7840U / Pro 8840U with integrated XDNA NPUs. All versions support up to 96 GB LPDDR5-5600 RAM and up to 24 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage via 3x M.2280 slots. As far as operational conditions go, the fanless aluminium chassis can withstand between -40º to 85º C environmental temperatures. The processors are limited to 54 W TDP in order to ensure proper cooling and reduce energy costs for server operators.
Port selection is specifically designed for high-speed server configurations with 4x 2.5 GbE NICs, 1x BMC, and the AMD Ryzen embedded version also comes with up to 2x 10 GbE NICs. There also are 4x USB-A 3.2 ports, a mini-USB port for console access and up to an HDMI 2.1+ DP (via USB-C, mDP or full-size 2.1 connector) video outs. All versions support Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.3 + 4G/5G wireless connectivity. Simply NUC offers the option of a separate AI accelerator M.2 module.
