Seiko has launched three new automatic watches - SRE021, SRE023, and SRE024. These watches are added to the company's line of smaller-sized mechanical models for 2025. The trio of watches is pretty simple, housed in compact 32mm stainless steel cases, and should be great for those who prefer classic proportions and a bare-bones design.
Each model runs on Seiko’s 2R06 automatic movement, with around 40 hours of power reserve and manual winding support. The movement uses 21 jewels and includes a stop-seconds function for accurate time setting. While the specs are quite modest, they’re typical of Seiko’s entry-level mechanical lineup, and should be reliable and straightforward enough for everyday wear.
The cases measure 11.4mm thick, with a lug-to-lug of 38.7mm and 15mm lug width, giving these watches a smaller wrist presence than most of Seiko’s automatic models. The watches use curved Hardlex crystal and carry 10-bar water resistance, alongside Seiko’s LumiBrite on the hands and indices. Each model features a three-fold clasp with push-button release and weighs approximately 90 grams.
Design-wise, the new lineup keeps things minimal. The SRE021 features a dark navy dial, the SRE023 goes for a soft champagne tone, and the SRE024 uses a two-tone gold accent across the bracelet and bezel. Unlike the brand’s sportier or GPS-equipped models, the new SRE series merely sticks to mechanical fundamentals - steel, movement, and legibility. For many, that’s exactly what should make them appealing. However, Seiko hasn't revealed pricing for these three models as of writing. Since they are slated for a December 2025 launch, we can expect pricing info to be available soon enough.
