Grand Seiko releases highly accurate limited edition watch

The Grand Seiko Evolution 9 Spring Drive U.F.A. SLGB005 watch is now available in countries worldwide. This model, also referred to as the Ice Forest “Violet Dawn” timepiece, was announced at the end of September 2025.

You can now buy the Grand Seiko Spring Drive U.F.A. SLGB005 watch at the brand’s online store in the US for $11,100. Similarly, in EU countries like Germany, it can be purchased online for €11,000. In the UK, it has an RRP of £9,500, with prospective customers invited to make an enquiry for the watch. It is worth noting that only 1,300 pieces are available worldwide.

Grand Seiko’s SLGB005 has a crystalline textured violet dial, featuring silver tone indexes and hands. This is surrounded by an Ever-Brilliant Stainless Steel casing, measuring 37.0 x 44.3 x 11.4 mm (~1.46 x 1.74 x 0.45 inches), with a combination of Zaratsu-polished and hairline finishes. It comes with a matching metal bracelet with an 18k rose gold Grand Seiko emblem on the clasp.

The SLGB005 is powered by the Spring Drive Caliber 9RB2, said to remain accurate to within 20 seconds each year; this earns its title as an “Ultra Fine Accuracy” watch. According to Grand Seiko, this is possible thanks to a “specially aged quartz oscillator”, with a low-power circuit and vacuum sealing. It also offers 4,800 A/m magnetic resistance and 10 bar water resistance.
