Omega has released a new version of the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M. This is the fourth generation of the timepiece, which debuted in 2005. With the latest iteration, the company has made several changes.
Compared to its predecessor, the new Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M is described by Omega as “flatter and slimmer”; the case measures 42 mm (~1.65 inches) across and 13.8 mm (~0.543 inches) thick. The reduction in height is thanks in part to the flat sapphire crystal, protecting the matte black dial.
The Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M has a new case structure, with a Grade 5 Titanium screw-in back and an inner ring made from the same material. There is also a unidirectional ceramic bezel and a slimmer steel bracelet. The watch’s dial features rhodium-plated Arabic numerals and arrowhead hands, with Super-LumiNova to make it easier to tell the time at night. This model is powered by a Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8912, with the self-winding movement offering a 60 hour power reserve.
It is also worth noting two features which have been removed for the fourth-generation Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M. The first is the date display, which previously sat at the three o’clock position. The second is the helium escape valve, with the 10 o’clock crown removed.
You can now buy the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M fourth generation watches in Europe. There are seven variations, with steel on rubber strap watches starting from £7,200/€8,400, and steel on steel watches starting from £7,700/€9,000.
