Previous reports claimed Samsung was preparing the Galaxy S22 FE for launch, with the S23 FE to be canceled. As has become common with the rumor mill for Samsung's "Fan Edition" models, a new report has now turned that on its head, touting the opposite.
Going by a report today from Korean media, it appears Samsung has canceled the Galaxy S22 FE and will focus on the S23 FE. Supposedly, the Galaxy S22 FE was initially scheduled to launch in October last year but those plans were shelved due to semi-conductor supply chain issues. Instead, Samsung will now skip the S22 FE and release the S23 FE later in the year.
The source, Hankooki, claims the Galaxy S23 FE will debut in August or September. Ergo, in Q3. The S20 FE launched in September 2020, a month after Unpacked, so that could be the case again this year. Debuting the S23 FE at that time of the year seems logical, as it'd launch right between the S23 and S24 series. The S21 FE, for example, debuted just a month before the S22 series and may have suffered from lackluster sales as a result, with potential buyers likely opting to wait for the S22 flagships, or get the S21 series phones on deals.
