The brand-new Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra flagship underwent a drop test in which the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 of its front and rear panels, not to mention its updated Armor Aluminum frame, were aimed at a concrete surface from different heights. Now, its smaller S23+ sibling has run the same gauntlet.
Unlike the Ultra, the Plus model combines a flat screen with slightly cleaner rear camera rings. However, this did not stop it from experiencing roughly similar damage to that of its top-end sibling during its repeat encounters with PBKReviews' concrete pavement.
Its theoretically upgraded protective glass did not protect it from cracks to both the front and rear from the first experimental drop. Its frame also incurred some severe dings on phases of the drop test specifically directed at it.
On the other hand, none of this damage interfered with the One UI 5.1-powered smartphone's functionality in any way - as with the S23 Ultra in its own comparable performance. In addition, this means both devices acquitted themselves better than the S22 Ultra in this test of their relative durability.
