Samsung has partnered with another German vehicle manufacturer to create a limited edition version of its latest premier smartphone. A year ago next week, Samsung introduced a Mercedes EQ-themed Galaxy S22 Ultra, which also came with a hard box and several themed accessories. Incidentally, the Mercedes EQ tie-in launched alongside an equivalent Mark & Lona edition.
This year, Samsung has collaborated with BMW for the Galaxy S23 Ultra BMW M Edition. As marketing images show, Samsung has created the limited edition model around the M3 E30, which BMW sold between 1986 and 1992. Seemingly, Samsung includes a themed case with the BMW M Edition, as well as a branded air compressor, a photo book, a poster and a wireless charger. Samsung appears to have customised One UI 5.1 for the BMW M Edition too.
The BMW M Edition will be exclusive to South Korea, where it will sell for KRW 1,727,000 (~US$1,361) with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. For reference, an equivalent Galaxy S23 Ultra sells for KRW 1,600,400 (~US$1,261) in South Korea before any pre-order discounts. As it stands, Samsung will only produce 1,000 units of the BMW M Edition, which can be ordered through SK Telecom.
