Xiaomi Band 8 reportedly draws closer to launch as Xiaomi 13 Ultra MWC debut gets ruled out by leaker
Xiaomi debuted the Band 7 in May last year. The smart band launched in China at first, before arriving globally in June. A successor is on the way, as most would expect, with a new leak now hinting at an imminent release.
According to leaker Mukul Sharma, Xiaomi has now begun production of a new fitness band, likely the Band 8. Supposedly, the Xiaomi Band 8 isn't far away from launch anymore, which isn't surprising considering the release dates of previous entries in the series. The Band 7 launched in May, the Mi Band 6 in late March, and the Mi Band 5 in early June. From all available information, the Xiaomi Band 8 will launch sometime in Q2.
While currently unconfirmed, there's a chance the Xiaomi Band 8 launches alongside the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. Both devices may be joined by the Xiaomi Pad 6 series at the same launch event as well. As previously reported, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will not launch this month and is more likely being prepped for an April or May debut. A new leak corroborates that, too, with the leaker claiming Xiaomi will launch the Xiaomi 13 Lite, Xiaomi 13, and Xiaomi 13 Pro in Barcelona, but not the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
