Ride1Up releases new folding e-bike with torque sensor and impressive 96km range

Ride1Up has unveiled its second-generation Portola 02 electric bike in the global market nearly three years after launching the first-generation Portola. Interestingly, the Portola 02 comes with a foldable alloy frame, measuring 19 x 29.5 x 33 inches (482.6 x 749.3 x 838.2 mm) when folded. The compact folding design allows riders to store the e-bike in compact places, or they can take it on the go. At 61 lbs (27.6 kg), the e-bike isn’t exactly lightweight.
The Portola 02 is powered by a 750 W AKM hub motor, which is said to offer 90 Nm of torque and a top speed of up to 28 mph (45 km/h) with pedal assist. The class 3 e-bike is available with two battery pack options: 10 AH and 15 AH. Riders can choose the battery pack according to their needs. The former can get up to 45 miles (72.4 km), while the latter is said to deliver 60 miles (96 km) of range in pedal assist. This means you can expect low figures with full throttle.
The foldable e-bike has wide 20 x 3” puncture-resistant tires paired with dual-piston hydraulic brakes with 180 mm rotors. There’s a 3.5-inch color display that shows essential information such as speed, battery levels, range, class levels, and modes. Other notable improvements include an improved battery management system, built-in Find My tracking, an integrated 100 lux LED front headlight, and a brake light with integrated turn signals. Plus, the model is equipped with the Intui-Drive system, which combines torque and cadence sensing.
As for price, the Ride1Up Patrola 02 starts at $995 for the 10 AH battery variant, while the 15 AH battery variant is priced at $1,095. Available in bronze, dark slate, cloud white, and azure blue colorways, buyers can purchase the e-bike directly from Ride1Up’s official website.
