The Macina Joy (2027) comes with a Bosch hub motor
KTM's upcoming Macina Joy is an affordable, practical e-bike tailored for everyday commutes and leisure rides. Equipped with a new rear hub motor from Bosch, it features full urban equipment, a suspension fork, and dependable Shimano components.

KTM has added a new electric bike to its lineup with the Macina Joy (2027), though it is not yet available. Whether it is worth waiting for remains questionable, given the wide selection of comparable e-bikes already on the market. The KTM Macina Joy is a classic trekking e-bike tailored primarily for commuters and cyclists who stick to paved bike paths or well-maintained forest and country trails. Priced at €2,299, it remains relatively affordable and will be available in several frame styles, colors, and sizes. This price applies to the German market, but KTM e-bikes are also sold in other countries, including the UK.

Power comes from the newly introduced Bosch Hub Line - a rear hub motor delivering a modest 45 Nm of torque. It is paired with a removable 400 Wh battery, which is slightly below average in capacity, though this should be less of an issue for city riding. Should the battery run out mid-ride, a 9-speed Shimano Cues drivetrain takes over. Stopping power is provided by Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes with two-piston calipers front and rear.

The Macina Joy has a listed weight of approximately 23.6 kg (52 lbs) and a maximum permissible total weight of 142 kg (313 lbs). Consequently, a 90 kg (198 lbs) rider can carry just over 28 kg (62 lbs) of cargo. The bike comes fully equipped for daily commuting with front and rear fenders, a luggage rack, a kickstand, and integrated lighting. A Suntour NX1 suspension fork with 63 mm of travel provides added comfort on rougher terrain.
