Kalkhoff has unveiled a fleet of new e-bikes for the 2027 model year, designed to deliver comfortable, motor-assisted mobility at relatively accessible price points.

E-bike manufacturer Kalkhoff is expanding its portfolio for the 2027 model year, positioning itself to cover both premium and more accessible market segments. The centerpiece of this expansion is a new entry-level line dubbed the "1 Series," designed to deliver a strong price-to-performance ratio across three initial models: the Image 1 Move, Image 1 Advance, and Endeavour 1 Move. That said, with prices reaching €2,799 for the Image 1 Advance, Kalkhoff's definition of "entry-level" remains on the higher end of the spectrum.

All three 1 Series models utilize Bosch's recently introduced rear hub motor. While its 45 Nm of torque isn't class-leading on paper, it should prove more than adequate for daily riding. Position-wise, the Image 1 Move is tailored for urban environments, while the Image 1 Advance prioritizes comfort and incorporates a two-speed UT Gear H2 transmission. The Endeavour 1 Move targets the touring crowd. At launch, all three models will be available exclusively with low-step-through frames, support a maximum total system weight of 150 kg (including bike, rider, and cargo), and come equipped with an MIK HD-compatible rear rack.

Beyond the entry-level segment, Kalkhoff is also integrating advanced drivetrain technology into its broader 2027 lineup. Select mid-range models will feature automatic transmissions, including the Enviolo Trekking Automatic and TRP E.A.S.I. These systems handle gear selection dynamically to maintain a preset cadence, removing the need to shift manually when stopping or accelerating in traffic. The new Endeavour L Touring is among the models confirmed to offer an automatic drivetrain option.
