Kona launches new SUV-style mountain e-bike with Bosch Performance Line motor

Kona has officially unveiled its latest electric mountain bike, the EL Kahuna, in the global market. Kona’s new eMTB is said to be designed for both daily commuting and off-roading purposes. At the core of the EL Kahuna is Bosch’s Performance Line motor, which delivers 28 mph top speed and 75 Nm of torque.
The company has packed a 625 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery. Riders can expect up to 85 miles (140 km) of range on a single charge. Speaking of the frame, the eMTB features a 6061 aluminum frame, which is capable of handling a maximum payload of 136 kg (300 lbs). In terms of components, the EL Kahuna ships with a 10-speed MicroShift Advent drivetrain, a 100 mm RockShox Recon Gold fork, and a TranzX dropper post.
Furthermore, there’s a Bosch Intuvia 100 display that shows essential information such as speed, distance, battery levels, and more. The eMTB is equipped with 29 x 2.25-inch Schwalbe G-One tires paired with Tektro Gemini brakes. Moreover, it is compatible with a range of accessories, including front and rear Lezyne lights, a kickstand, and a rear rack.
It’s worth noting that Kona’s new eMTB doesn’t come cheap. The EL Kahuna is priced at $3,499 and is now available for purchase directly from Kona’s official website. Interested buyers can choose from four different size options, including SM, M, L, and XL.
