Moustache Lundi 27 ES: Comfort-focused city e-bike with Bosch mid-drive motor

Moustache offers a variety of bikes for different applications, and the new Lundi 27 ES appears to be an e-bike geared towards everyday usability. However, it does come with certain limitations compared to typical trekking e-bikes. For instance, it uses a rigid aluminum fork, though at least a suspension seatpost is included. The frame is likewise made of aluminum and features internal cable routing, as is standard on most modern bikes.

The Lundi 27 ES is powered by a Bosch Active Line Plus mid-drive motor, which delivers 50 Nm of torque and isn’t a particularly powerful unit. Based on personal experience, this modest output shouldn’t make a dramatic difference in urban riding, since even nominally weaker motors can typically reach 25 km/h (15.6 mph), the legal assisted speed limit for pedelecs in the EU. The motor draws energy from a 500 Wh Bosch PowerTube battery. Hydraulic disc brakes are fitted front and rear. The front brake rotor (180 mm) is larger than its rear counterpart (160 mm) – a configuration that’s fairly common on bicycles.

Tipping the scales at 26.2 kg (57.8 lb), the Lundi 27 ES has a gross vehicle weight rating of 150 kg (330.6 lb) – referring to the maximum total weight it can safely carry. For example, a rider weighing 100 kg (220.5 lb) can bring along roughly 24 kg (53 lb) of luggage. An MIK HD-compatible carrier is included, and an optional front carrier can be added for extra storage. The bike also comes equipped with Spanninga front and rear lights.

Moustache opted for a classic chain drive paired with a 10-speed Shimano Deore shifting system. A chainguard and mudguards help protect the rider from dirt and grease, while a built-in kickstand keeps the bike upright when parked. The Lundi 27 ES is currently listed at €2,699 / £2,499 and is available in multiple color options.
