As one of the most prolific e-bike manufacturers, Canyon is currently offering the Spectral:ONfly CF9 at just £3,249 / €3,499 through the official online shop, down from the original price of £5,849 / €6,299. Value-added tax is included in these prices, though buyers will be charged separately for shipping. The model is still available in sizes L and XL for the Stealth colour option, whilst only size XL remains for the Barely Olive variant.
At 18.8 kg (around 41.4 lb), the Spectral:ONfly CF9 is fairly light for a full-suspension e-bike. This lightweight design is partly achieved through Canyon’s decision to use a carbon frame. The company also opted to minimise weight in other areas at the cost of performance. For example, the integrated battery has a modest capacity of 360 Wh, which can pose a considerable limitation for e-mountain bikes, as steep climbs can place a rather significant strain on the battery. That said, the bike does let you easily add a range extender. Similarly, both the TQ-HPR50 battery and the mid-drive motor prioritise a lightweight construction over maximum performance. According to Canyon, the motor weighs just 1,850 g (4.1 lb) and delivers 50 Nm of torque.
The e-mountain bike also features K.I.S. (Keep It Stable), an adjustable spring-loaded mechanism for stabilising the handlebars. Canyon says this component can help improve control and make rides safer. The bike also comes with a 12-speed Shimano SLX shifter alongside two Shimano Deore XT M8120 disc brakes, each offering four pistons paired with a 203 mm brake rotor. Both the rear shock and suspension fork are made by Fox. As with most mountain bikes, accessories for everyday use, such as front and rear lighting, need to be purchased separately.
