Samsung is also following the trend toward ever-larger batteries, as the brand-new Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro 5G is equipped with a 6,000 mAh battery that can be charged at a rate of 45 watts. With Gorilla Glass Victus+, six years of updates, and a triple camera, the smartphone offers an interesting set of features.

Following the unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy F70e 5G back in February, the Galaxy F70 Pro 5G is now set to follow, offering a significantly more modern design with thinner screen bezels and a punch-hole camera instead of a notch. In typical Samsung fashion, the Galaxy F70 Pro is expected to stand out with exceptionally long-term update support, as the manufacturer promises six major Android updates and six years of security patches.

The device is IP64-certified, meaning it is protected against rain but not fully waterproof. However, the display is said to be particularly well protected against drops and scratches thanks to Gorilla Glass Victus+. The 6.7-inch display features an AMOLED panel with 1,080p+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The fingerprint sensor is located on the side of the device rather than directly in the display. The battery has a capacity of 6,000 mAh and can be charged via USB-C at up to 45 watts.

Samsung includes a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization, but pairs it only with a 5 MP and a 2 MP camera. The 12 MP selfie camera supports HDR photography. Samsung has also cut corners on the processor, as the Galaxy F70 Pro 5G uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 from 2024. The ARM chip features four Cortex-A78 performance cores with boost clock speeds of up to 2.0 GHz, as well as four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores.

Pricing and availability

The Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro 5G will first launch in India, where the mid-range smartphone will be available with either 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of flash storage for ₹23,999 ($252), or with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for ₹32,999 ($346). Details regarding the international launch have not yet been announced.
