Resident Evil 9 Requiem finally has a release date. It will be playable across all platforms on February 27, 2026, on PC/PlayStation/Xbox. A new trailer confirmed it will be spearheaded by Leon Kennedy (contrary to the company stating otherwise) and a second protagonist called Grace Ashcroft. Apparently, the fate of them both will be 'intertwined'.
Unfortunately, the cinematic-heavy trailer doesn't show much in the way of gameplay. Based on what little we can see, it doesn't deviate from the cookie-cutter Resident Evil formula, complete with over-the-shoulder action and deliberate, slow-paced gameplay. We also get a glimpse at the game's main antagonist: Dr Gideon.
A previous leak speculated Resident Evil 9: Requiem's campaign would be longer than Resident Evil: Village. With the launch date rapidly approaching, a deeper dive into the game's combat/mechanics seems imminent. Capcom has promised it won't repeat Monster Hunter Wilds' mistakes with RE9 and it'll be interesting to see its launch state on PC.
