Redmi Smart TV A50 4K TV launches with a level 1 energy efficiency rating and a 144Hz refresh rate

Following the launch of the Redmi Smart TV A75 Energy Saving Edition last December, Xiaomi has now announced a smaller version with a better energy efficiency rating. Sold as the Redmi Smart TV A50 Energy Saving Edition, this model has a smaller 50-inch screen, but still keeps some of the features of the larger 75-inch model.
The Redmi Smart TV A50 Energy Saving Edition has a display panel with a 4K UHD (3840 × 2160 resolution) and a 144Hz refresh rate. The True Color panel, which is capable of up to 1.07 billion colors, is housed in a metal frame. Powering the TV is an unnamed quad-core processor with Cortex-A35 cores and a Mali G31 MP2 GPU. It is paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
Xiaomi has equipped the Redmi Smart TV A50 Energy Saving Edition with dual 10W bottom-firing speakers with bass boost. For connectivity, the TV has 2x USB-A ports, 1x ethernet port, 1x S/PDIF port, AV input, an antenna port, and 2x HDMI ports, one of which has support for ARC. It also features 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and supports screen casting from other devices including mobile devices running Android and iOS, and computers powered by Windows or macOS.
The Redmi Smart TV A50 Energy Saving Edition has a power consumption rating of 75W and a level 1 China Energy Efficiency Rating. It ships with HyperOS and comes with a control center for managing compatible smart home devices.
Priced at ¥1399 (~$203/€177), the Redmi Smart TV A50 Energy Saving Edition is available to buy now from the Youpin store in China. Xiaomi has not yet announced whether the TV will be available in other regions.
