A new image has now surfaced on Chinese social media pages claiming to depict the upcoming Redmi Pad in the flesh. The tablet shows off a clean design, perhaps with some design inspirations from the Realme Pad X—a tablet it's expected to go up against.

It looks increasingly evident that Xiaomi has a new tablet ready to launch under the Redmi brand. Word of the Redmi Pad first surfaced a few months ago, indicating its 5G hardware. An image now claimed to be that of the Redmi tablet also looks to now be circulating in the wild.

The shared image only shows the rear of the tablet, sporting a rectangular camera module and the Realme branding at the bottom corner. There are only so many ways a tablet can be designed, so it's no surprise that the tablet depicted appears to take design cues from what would be a rival—the Realme Pad X.

The Redmi Pad, if or when it launches, is expected to rival the Realme Pad X as an affordable tablet for the masses. Details are currently unknown but an earlier leak seemed to indicate it would offer 5G support. According to Digital Chat Station, the cheapest out of Xiaomi's four upcoming tablets would land with a 10.4-inch display. That could well refer to the Redmi Pad. The image source also claims the Redmi Pad will come equipped with a new MediaTek Kompanio chipset.

Launch plans are similarly elusive but leaker Mukul Sharma claims a Redmi tablet will launch in India, so it's likely the Redmi Pad gets a global launch when it finally arrives.
