Redmi Pad: WiFi-only model certified as configurations leak ahead of tipped October launch
After launching a new variant of the Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro 12.4 last week in China, the company looks set to come back with a new tablet: the Redmi Pad. The Redmi Pad has leaked over the past few weeks, and new information now reveals more about Redmi's inaugural tablet.
According to leaker SnoopyTech, the Redmi Pad will be part of Xiaomi's October Global Launch event. Presumably, the tablet will debut alongside the Xiaomi 12T and 12T Pro. Those two leaked in full recently, reinforcing the notion of an imminent launch. Additionally, the tipster claims the tablet will be available in two color options of Moonlight Silver and Graphite Gray. The Redmi Pad is also said to come with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
The Redmi Pad has also made the trip over to the UAE's TDRA for certification. The tablet arrived with the model number "22081283G", indicating it's a global model. The most interesting bit, however, is the fact that it's explicitly listed as a WiFi-only model. While information on the Redmi Pad's connectivity equipment has been conflicting, this isn't the first time word has surfaced of a WiFi-only model. This confirms that such a model exists at the very least, although it wouldn't be surprising if an LTE variant was also launched.
