It's no secret that Razer laptops are typically pricier than alternatives from HP, Dell, Asus, or others spec-for-spec. The Blade Pro 17 RTX 2080 Max-Q, for example, costs hundreds more than the Lenovo Legion Y740-17ICH even though both come equipped with the same GPU. The best time to buy a Razer is therefore during a sale when the manufacturer is attempting to clear stock.
The latest Razer sale takes $500 off the 13.3-inch Blade Stealth Whiskey Lake-U range for a final price of $1000 to $1400. The deal is particularly notable because it involves the latest Blade Stealth model and not some older outdated SKU. The popular configuration with full-power 25 W GeForce MX150 graphics, 256 GB SSD, and 16 GB of RAM, for example, is only $1100 right now to be more in line with other flagship Ultrabooks in terms of price like the HP Spectre 13, Dell XPS 13, or Asus ZenBook 13 series.
The sale comes in the midst of the official launches of both the Intel Ice Lake-U and Comet Lake-U series to suggest that Razer might have something up its sleeve in the near future. In the meantime, check out our full review on the Whiskey Lake-U Blade Stealth here and the official product page here. We recommend buyers to check for these abnormalities that we experienced on our own Blade Stealth unit or to purchase the extended warranty just in case.
