Powered by NVidia's GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU with 8 GB of GDDR6 memory and a maximum TGP of 140 watts, the Aorus 15 delivers solid graphics performance suitable for demanding tasks such as video editing, gaming, content creation, etc. Although, as per our testing, the full TGP is not taken advantage of (during a benchmark run of Witcher 3), the benchmarks were still consistently above average for the RTX 4070 dGPU. For a bump in efficiency for lighter tasks, the laptop features a MUX switch for switching between the integrated and discrete GPUs. However, due to the lack of NVidia's Advanced Optimus, the laptop must be restarted to do so.
The beefy GPU is paired with Intel's 13th-gen i7-13700H processor clocked at up to 5.0 GHz, featuring 14 cores and 20 threads. Multitasking and intensive applications are expected to run smoothly, indicated by a score of 17,200 in Cinebench R23's multi-core test. Memory and storage options are abundant, with 16 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM (upgradeable up to 64 GB) and a 1 TB PCIe Gen 4 M.2 SSD. The laptop features a 15.6" 16:9 QHD display with a resolution of 2560x1440 and a refresh rate of 165Hz. The screen features DCI-P3 coverage, although our testing revealed the panel lacks full coverage of the sRGB and P3 color gamuts while covering 86% of Adobe RGB. These are respectable numbers for content creation, although higher-end creatives may crave for a more color-accurate display. However, thanks to a black-to-white response time of just 7 ms and a fast 165 Hz refresh rate, gamers will be more than satisfied with the panel.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2, providing seamless connectivity with various devices and networks. Additionally, the inclusion of DTS:X Ultra Audio Technology and built-in speakers enhances the audio experience. In terms of ports, the Aorus 15 offers a diverse selection, including Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Gen1, RJ45 lan port, and an SD Card Reader.
