The Polar Vantage M3 smartwatch is receiving a new firmware update. This mid-range wearable was launched in October 2024 with features like dual-frequency GPS and support for offline maps. Now, the version 4.1.1 release is said to bring various improvements to the watch.
Firstly, this Vantage M3 update brings a new Points of Interest (POI) feature for maps. It can show landmarks like shops, cafes or shelters, whether you are training or exploring an area more leisurely. Plus, there is the option to create your own POIs. Another new tool is Find My Phone, enabling you to view the last synced location of a missing phone. There is also the option to trigger a sound on the phone to help you find it.
There are five new watch faces, two analog and three digital options, with capsule-shaped widgets displaying various data points. Users can now get Polar-related notifications on their watch without needing to take their phone. Plus, the company has added a new six-digit PIN security feature, similar to Garmin’s recently released Device Passcode tool.
The 4.1.1 firmware update is now available for all users of the Vantage M3 smartwatch (curr. $409.90 at Amazon). It can be downloaded and installed via the Flow smartphone app or via FlowSync on a computer.
