Philips intros new 4K OLED gaming monitor with striking design and improved text clarity

Capable gaming monitors are a dime a dozen these days. It appears that a new gaming monitor drops almost every other day, which is great news for those who are hunting for the perfect match for their gaming setup. 

For instance, Philips Evnia lineup of gaming monitors has a relatively good reputation in the industry, offering decent specs at comparatively reasonable price points. The latest to hog the limelight happens to be the Evnia 32M2N6901A, which packs a 32-inch QD OLED panel with a resolution of 3840 x 2160, colloquially known as 4K.

The new Evnia gaming monitor sports an attractive feature set

Judging a gaming monitor by its specs alone is definitely quite a challenging task. However, the Evnia appears to boast all the bells and whistles that one might expect from an upper-range gaming monitor. The panel supports 10-bit color as well as DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. Philips also claims 99% coverage of the DCI-P3 and 97.5% coverage of the Adobe RGB color gamuts, which is definitely impressive.

Being an OLED panel, the Evnia 32M2N6901A gaming monitor boasts nearly an infinite contrast ratio courtesy of pixel-level dimming. A full-screen peak brightness of 250 nits has been claimed, which is quite mediocre. That said, the panel is capable of hitting 450 nits in a 10% window and a whopping 1,000 nits in a 3% window, which should make HDR viewing quite pleasant.

Folks who care a lot about color accuracy will be pleased to note that a ΔE of less than 2 has been reported in sRGB mode without requiring any additional calibration. While it's true that earlier generation QD OLED panels suffered from text fringing due to their peculiar sub-pixel layout, that should not be a problem this time around since this specific panel utilizes an RGB Q-stripe layout to alleviate the aforementioned issue, thereby improving text clarity.

The Evnia 32M2N6901A gaming monitor sports a peak refresh rate of 165 Hz, which is decent but nothing worth writing home about in 2026. There does not appear to be any support for dual mode functionality, which would allow gamers to utilize a higher refresh rate by sacrificing resolution.

The monitor also boasts dual built-in 5-watt speakers, which should be serviceable. USB-C connectivity is also present, featuring 90 W power delivery. Other input and output options include:

Another notable feature of the monitor happens to be the AI-enhanced AmbiGlow and AmbiScape modes, which illuminate the back of the monitor to create an immersive atmosphere with on-screen content synchronization. 

Ergonomic adjustments options include 130 mm height adjustment, -5° to 20° tilt adjustment, and -5° to +25° swivel adjustment.

The Philips Evnia 32M2N6901A gaming monitor is expected to hit shelves sometime in August of this year. A price of £649 (roughly $868) has been floated, with international pricing yet to be revealed.
