Philips Hue releases new update for smart lighting app
A new version of the Philips Hue apps for iOS and Android, which control smart lighting and home security products, has been launched. Version 5.18.0 provides a relatively minor update following versions 5.17.0 and 5.16.0, which arrived earlier in May.
The change log for the Philips Hue app version 5.18.0 suggests that the update brings a range of bug fixes alongside improved stability. However, the company does not specify what has been changed or where users might see the benefits of the update. Version 5.17.0 came with a new compact view, allowing users to select a smaller card size to view more Rooms and Zones simultaneously. Initially, customers reported that they could not find the feature, said to be located under the Home tab (…) icon > Edit Home > Cards. However, this problem appears to have been resolved, with several users reporting that they have since found the setting.
You can now download version 5.18.0 of the Philips Hue app for iOS from the Apple App Store, with the Android version available via the Google Play Store. In other news, Signify recently launched the Philips Hue Perifo T-connector, an accessory for the brand’s smart track lighting solution. The product is now on sale in the US and EU countries like the Netherlands and is expected to launch in the UK shortly.
