The iConnectHue for Philips Hue app has received a significant upgrade with version 5.5.0. The iOS app is an alternative way for Philips Hue customers to control their smart lights, currently priced at $3.99, though there are also in-app purchases.
Version 5.5.0 of the iConnectHue app supports Home Widgets, giving regular customers one small and one medium option. Users with a membership have access to a large size and an unlimited number of widgets. According to the developer, it's now easier to add new devices to the widget and duplicate or share them. It is noted that the widget may not show in real-time if a light is switched on or off, but this does not affect functionality. Plus, Pro Members get a Multi Action item, which allows you to trigger four things from one place, a function similar to that seen with the Hue Dimmer Switch.
The update also brings new Siri features, such as creating and editing shortcuts in the Shortcuts app. Again, Pro Members get an additional benefit, this time various new shortcut abilities, such as adjusting the brightness of a group or controlling motion or contact sensors. You can download the iConnectHue app version 5.5.0 from the Apple App Store. The company suggests that you have iOS 17 installed to ensure all features work as intended.
