Aqara announces new Matter-compatible Roller Shade Controller T1S
The Aqara Roller Shade Controller T1S has been revealed. The smart home gadget allows you to automate the opening and closing of your blinds and provides various methods through which you can remotely control them.
The Roller Shade Controller T1S allows you to adjust multiple blinds simultaneously, with options in the Aqara app to create a schedule or set a specific opening position. If you use an Aqara Matter hub like the M3, the device supports Matter-over-Bridge, meaning you can add the controller to many smart home systems such as Apple Home, Google Home or Amazon Alexa. Plus, you could link the controller to other smart home devices, like shutting the blinds when you turn on the TV.
According to Aqara, the gadget is compatible with several types of shades, including roller blinds, zebra roller blinds, Shangri-la blinds, and honeycomb blinds. The tubular motor operates at speeds up to 25 rpm while remaining relatively quiet with 27dB noise. The pipe’s diameter is 38 mm (~1.5 inches) and must be wired in. You can now buy the Aqara Roller Shade Controller T1S in the UK for £109.99. It is unclear when Aqara will roll out its new product to other markets like North America, where it already sells popular devices like the Smart Lock U100.
