Oppo might be best known for its smartphones, tablets and audio accessories (not to mention its particularly fast SuperVOOC charging system for the same), but is also invested in other areas of tech such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, imaging and wireless connectivity.
The company claims to be ranked #8 in the world in terms of the latter, and to have deployed its 5G IP in over 40 countries worldwide.
The tech might be for new cars as well as mobile devices, and could one day be high-volume enough to warrant the same potential for speed and bandwidth. To that end, Volkswagen has just been unveiled as Oppo's latest licensee for the IP in question.
The carmaker asserts that its new agreement will improve the high-tech smart car experience it aims to provide. The new partnership is to take effect in all markets in which Volkswagen operates.
