Oppo Find X9 Ultra

Pros
Cons
The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is a high-end Android flagship positioned strongly around mobile photography. Reviewers repeatedly highlight its advanced multi-camera setup, especially its 200MP sensors, 3x telephoto lens, and 10x optical zoom capability. It also delivers top-tier performance through the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, supported by 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The 6.82-inch AMOLED LTPO display offers a sharp 3168 x 1440 resolution, HDR support, and a 144 Hz refresh rate. Battery life is another major strength, with a 7,050 mAh silicon-carbon battery, fast charging, and wireless charging. Its main compromises are the €1,699 price, large 236 g body, occasional software concerns, and limited availability in some markets.

Reviews for the Oppo Find X9 Ultra
Source: Expert Reviews

The main appeal of the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is its camera offering. In fact, I feel confident in stating this is the best phone camera that I have tested to date, with incredible zoom capabilities, extensive video options and exquisitely detailed and punchy results from all lenses. Beyond that though, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is an excellent smartphone across the board. Performance is up there with the best, the display is sharp, bright and colour accurate, the software is slick and battery life is the second-best we’ve ever recorded. That hefty price tag won’t be for everybody, and those who want to get the most years possible out of their next smartphone will be better served by the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. But if you want the best cameras in the business and you aren’t daunted by the asking price, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is the smartphone to beat in 2026.

Comparing the OPPO Find X9 Ultra vs Vivo X300 Ultra vs Xiaomi 17 Ultra smartphones to see how their camera tech, battery life, gaming smarts and other bits stack up. Which is the best phone for you? Sure, the OPPO Find X9 Ultra sports some insane telephoto camera action, but its rivals aren't far behind. The Vivo X300 Ultra also boasts one of the best camera phone setups of 2026, while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is just as beefy with solid specs. If you're after some of the best hardware that you can stuff into your shorts, you certainly came to the right video. I've reviewed all three of these phones and you can also see my videos on ColorOS, HyperOS and OriginOS right here on Tech Spurt. The OPPO Find X9 Ultra, Vivo X300 Ultra and Xiaomi 17 Ultra have a lot in common. They're all powered by the same powerful Snapdragon chipset, so the gaming experience is second to none. All three also offer up a large 6000mAh-plus battery, although I did find that one of this smartphone trio wasn't as dependable as the others for all-day life. The OPPO Find X9 Ultra serves up better camera hardware on paper, and I already gushed all over it in my review. However, the Vivo X300 Ultra uses the same main sensor and is certainly one of the best phones in 2026 for snapping photos and video.

Yes. While importing may not be ideal, this global version plays nicely in a variety of locales, so availability is the bigger problem than compatibility. The camera is fantastic, but so is much of the rest of the phone experience, including the software and battery life, making it good value despite the hefty €1,699 ($2,000 USD) price.

For me, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is hands down the best camera phone I’ve used yet. Does a phone need four cameras? It depends on who you ask, but now that I have spent a few weeks with the phone, my resounding answer is yes. The 3x camera is phenomenal, the 10x camera zoom range is incredibly useful, and the quality far exceeds any digital zoom. Hasselblad Master mode is also a standout; it finally gives me exactly the kind of less-processed, more camera-like images with custom film recipes I've been wanting from a flagship phone. Add in superb video, excellent battery life, a gorgeous screen, and a design in Tundra Umber that I absolutely love, and Oppo has made my perfect camera phone. It is not completely flawless. Standard mode can still look too processed for my taste, the teleconverter integration is more limited than it should be, and there are still some minor settings tweaks I'd love to see. But if your priority is having the most capable, most versatile, most photography-focused phone possible, the Find X9 Ultra is exceptionally hard to argue against.

There can be no doubt that the OPPO Find X9 Ultra is an exceptional phone. With its remarkable performance, enduring battery life, fantastic cameras, and excellent feature set, it’s easily one of the best flagship Android phones you can buy right now. Crucially, the Find X9 Ultra compares favourably against the competition. Samsung’s S26 Ultra is also exceedingly competent, but apart from its Privacy Display feature and incredible Horizon Lock video stabilisation, it doesn’t have that wow factor that buyers of these types of phones crave.Given its stronger focus on photography, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is arguably the keener competitor. However, not all may like the 17 Ultra’s application of Leica’s colour science, and there’s no question the Find X9 Ultra has the more impressive camera system – 4 vs 3 cameras. Furthermore, while the 17 Ultra also has a photography kit, it’s a more basic setup that only adds buttons and a battery.

OPPO’s entry to the ultra market is possibly the best one we’ve seen yet. We’re going to leave our final verdict for when we get to our camera review for this phone, but the OPPO Find X9 Ultra is shaping up to be the best Ultra to arrive in the Philippines yet.

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra has become my favorite Android phone. Its cameras are the best I've ever tested, its software is excellent, and its performance and battery life are similarly impressive. The trade-off here is that this phone is large, heavy, and expensive. It won't be for everyone, but if you care about cameras more than anything else, you won't be disappointed with this one.

I snapped over 800 photos and videos with the Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra side-by-side across three countries. Let's check out the results side by side. I will say this: the competition is heating up between the camera-centric Ultra phones! The Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra both rock a 200-megapixel near 1-inch sensor main camera; both have a 200-megapixel base zoom, with Oppo offering a 1/1.28-inch Omnivision 70mm and Vivo using a 1/1.4-inch ISOCELL HP0 85mm zoom. Both have a 14mm ultra-wide, and Oppo has an additional 10X 230mm optical zoom lens.

The OPPO Find X9 Ultra is for anyone who wants the camera to be the star of the show on their smartphone. If the Find X9 Pro is the smart buy, the Find X9 Ultra is the enthusiast buy. Equally, if you just want the best smartphone camera available on the market today, get it. It really is that simple.Has Apple mastered headphones? AirPods Max 2 reviewThe fact that the X9 Ultra is going to be available outside of China is genuinely wonderful news for anyone who’s been watching OPPO’s top-tier hardware from the sidelines for years. One last thing worth flagging: OPPO also announced the OPPO Watch X3 alongside this, which is worth a look if you’re buying into the ecosystem. I’ll have more on that soon. In the meantime, get involved in the comments and let me know if you’re tempted by the Ultra, or if the Find X9 Pro is already enough phone for your pocket.

Yes, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is a fantastic purchase, provided you can stomach the cost. It’s as complete as the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, and surpasses it in camera performance. If you’ve never cared about the S Pen, and aren’t interested in an Apple iPhone 17 Pro Max, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra should be top of your list. The camera is far more engaging and varied than the Pixel 10 Pro XL’s too, and meets the challenge from the also fantastic Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s camera for capturing scenes as you see them, then adding a stunning twist thanks to effective collaborations with camera experts. It’s let down by the software, which has some frustrating problems, but these can realistically be solved in a future update. Plus, previous experience has told me not everyone will see these issues arise. It’s also a big, heavy phone, even by modern standards. Forget all about this, and just enjoy what is one of the most complete, exciting, desirable, and expensive flagship camera phones of the year.

There's no doubt in my mind that the Find X9 Ultra is the ultimate camera flagship of 2026. OPPO outdid itself this year, and the Find X9 Ultra not only measures up to the Vivo's excellent X300 Ultra, but exceeds it in key areas. The main 200MP camera is incredible in its own right, but it's the second 200MP 3x tele lens that stands out the most, and there's even a 10x optical zoom camera, delivering the kind of versatility that you just don't see on a phone. But it isn't just about the cameras; there's a massive 7,050mAh battery that lasts a day and a half even with heavy use, 100W charging, and the latest Qualcomm internals. It's easy, then, to see that the Find X9 Ultra is in a league of its own. The best part? It's launching globally.

The OPPO Find X9 Ultra is exactly what an “Ultra” phone should be – it throws everything at the wall, and somehow most of it sticks. After two weeks of use, it’s clear OPPO nailed the fundamentals. The display is one of the best you’ll find anywhere, performance is top-tier thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, and battery life is genuinely standout, easily pushing into two-day territory for most users. But the real story here is the camera system. With a stacked setup that includes multiple high-resolution sensors and true long-range zoom, the Find X9 Ultra feels less like a smartphone camera and more like a dedicated camera you happen to carry in your pocket. That said, it’s not perfect. Thermals can get a bit aggressive under heavy load, the vegan leather back doesn’t feel as premium as expected, and OPPO’s decision to ditch things like the alert slider still stings. More importantly, availability is going to be a major question mark. While OPPO is expanding globally, it’s still not fully available everywhere – especially in North America – which makes it harder to recommend for a lot of people. So, should you buy it? If you care about camera performance above everything else and can actually get your hands on one, the Find X9 Ultra is arguably the best smartphone camera available right now. But if you want a more balanced experience with wider availability, stronger ecosystem support, and fewer compromises, something like a Galaxy or iPhone is still the safer bet.

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is a massive achievement for Oppo, and it’s a phone that’s very hard to find fault with. It is an absolutely fantastic camera-focused phone with a no-compromise set of lenses that deliver a consistent experience regardless of zoom, with accurate colours and plenty of detail. It’s a versatile setup that works well up to 30x and beyond, with pro-level video features rarely seen on Android. But to be honest, it’s more than just a great camera phone – it’s a phenomenal phone full stop. That fantastic camera array is backed by a stylish design, a top-notch AMOLED screen, top-end performance, user-friendly and massively customisable hardware, one of the biggest batteries in any phone and rapid charging to boot. Yes, it’s not as thin and light as some might like, but with so much else going on here, it’s easy to overlook. In fact, it’s one of the easiest phones to recommend right now if you’ve got the cash for it.

It’s an excellent handset everywhere else, with flagship performance, an impressively long-lasting battery, slick software and a gorgeous display – but the Find X9 Ultra’s biggest strength is how it sets the pace for photography-first phones. Oppo has delivered year-on-year improvements for every sensor and the firm is now comfortably the class leader for long-range zoom. Colours are authentic and detail is nuanced in ways few rivals can match. That said, Vivo and Xiaomi have also brought their A game this generation. Mobile movie makers might feel better served by the X300 Ultra (if it’s available in their territory), while Xiaomi’s Leitzphone commits harder to the camera brand tie-in through Leica-badged theme and widgets – though you pay even more for it. All three take superb stills; the winner in any given shooting scenario often falls to personal preference on colour treatment. They also highlight how much ground Google, Samsung and Apple have lost by prioritising algorithmic image processing over cutting-edge sensor hardware. I’d still spring for the Oppo, though. Only serious snappers will be able to justify the high cost of entry, but that 10x zoom is just so versatile.

While Oppo's Find X9 Pro impressed with top-tier cameras, the step-up Find X9 Ultra somehow manages to take that next level. Sure, it's a niche prospect and will be a step beyond what most people need, but for those who demand zoom like no other, this Oppo has clear appeal. It's almost more camera than it is phone. That said, it doesn't forego the core feature set. Flagship build, solid battery life, and undeniable power all sit in the Ultra's favour. It's quite large, owing to the camera setup and display, though, which is another factor to keep in mind – as is the inevitable high price. Overall, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra delivers exactly what it sets out to: an ultimate camera experience. It won't be for everyone, but for photographers who just can't get the zoom quality they want from Samsung, Google, et al, the Oppo is where it's at.

The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is here and it packs perhaps the most advanced camera system in a phone yet. The Find X9 Ultra packs a 200-megapixel main camera with a 1/1.1-inch sensor, a 200-megapixel 3X 70mm zoom lens with a 1/1.28-inch sensor, a dedicated 230mm telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide. The phone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and offers a 7,050 mAh battery with wireless charging support.

The main reason to buy this handset over the X9 Pro is that optics upgrade. You've got an impressively versatile setup on the OPPO Find X9 Ultra, including a huge main sensor that's ideal for low light photography and some fantastic telephoto lenses for portrait shots and close-ups. That's before you even consider that photography kit with the tele-extender. The OPPO Find X9 Ultra isn't a one trick pony, however. You've also got slick gaming smarts on this global model, along with a smooth ColorOS experience. However, the battery life isn't quite as 'ultra' as some alternative smartphones - including the Find X9 Pro.

In isolation, the Oppo Find X9 Ultra is an excellent piece of tech, albeit pricier than other Ultras. It's not just a great cameraphone, it's a great all-rounder, too. It has an extra-long battery life, fast charging, a great display, although the full 144Hz is rarely utilized, and offers a nice, customizable software experience, which will get about five major upgrades in the future. However, if video quality is on top of your priority list, that may not be the Find X9 Ultra's forte. Videos are soft-ish across the board, or at least they are not on an "ultra" level. It's too early to say whether it's the best camera-centric phone in the first half of the year, but it's definitely up there with the best, and honestly, that should be enough. Still, we suggest waiting for all Ultras to hit the market before digging deep into your pockets. But among the big three cameraphones, the gaps are so small that it will probably boil down to preferences regarding design, software, your favorite focal lengths and features more than anything else.

The OPPO Find X9 Ultra global launch is confirmed for April 21, and it appears this super-flagship phone could finally be released in the UK! The latest leaks and rumours point to some ridiculously good camera tech, so here's a final look at the latest news ahead of our OPPO Find X9 Ultra review. The biggest difference between this almighty mobile and the Pro model appears to be the camera hardware. Not too surprising given the size of that bump. The OPPO Find X9 Ultra will apparently sport a PAIR of 200MP sensors, one for the regular wide shooter and one for the telephoto snapper. That main sensor is the same Sony Lytia effort slapped in the Vivo X300 Ultra, which I reviewed just yesterday - so check that out for an idea of what to expect vs the OPPO Find X9 Ultra! In other areas, this phone appears to be similar to the Pro model. That display should be another stunner, while the battery capacity is slightly reduced for the OPPO Find X9 Ultra. Hopefully still more than good enough for all day play, however.
