OnePlus announces new flagship phone with 165Hz display

OnePlus doesn't seem to be done with its Ace 6 lineup. The most recent addition was the 6T, which was released in the global market as the OnePlus 15R. Now, the brand has announced a new addition, set to release soon in China.
It's the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra, and as revealed in an official live stream, it will be a direct competitor to the Redmi K90 Max. The phone will feature the Dimensity 9500, the same SoC that will power Xiaomi's upcoming Redmi-branded smartphone.
During the live stream, the company representatives highlighted that the phone is designed with gamers in mind. It will come with multiple gaming-focused features, including optimizations for hitting 165FPS in games.
The company says that the 1% low frame rate will be "very strong," and OnePlus promises that the Ace 6 Ultra will not see FPS drops in critical moments. These are some bold claims, but it's worth noting that recent OnePlus flagship phones are gaining popularity among gamers for their performance (Chinese 12/256GB OnePlus 15 curr. $666.77 on TradingShenzhen).
Like the Ace 6T and OnePlus 15, the upcoming flagship phone will come with a 165Hz display. It's said to deliver a comfortable viewing experience in challenging lighting conditions, especially in low-light conditions. The company even touts that it's the "best screen" to play shooting games.
Design-wise, as shown in the live stream, the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra will look quite similar to the non-Ultra version, but with one key change. The black version showcased in the video features a rather large Ace logo, which has a reflective finish.
There's no concrete information on the launch date, but OnePlus has confirmed that the Ace 6 Ultra will launch later in April 2026 in China. It's unclear whether the company will bring this flagship phone to the global market.
