The most up-to-date leak appeared to support the notion that a successor for the remarkably successful and novel "affordable" Samsung flagship variant, the Galaxy S20 FE, would make it to the upcoming Unpacked event on August 11, 2021. Now, however, the latest post on the subject contradicts this hint.
The blog LetsGoDigital claims to have seen "official Samsung documents" that show the OEM has decided not to launch the S21 series' Fan Edition alongside other devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold3 after all. However, a subsequent debut in the course of 2021 is still allegedly on.
It may be a shame should the S21 FE truly fail to take the stage next month, particularly as it is slated to offer many of the S21 line's better attributes, albeit from behind a different 120Hz 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED display and in new colors.
The premium mid-tier device is even now thought to support the 45W fast-charging tech that might not even be included in the upcoming top-end Z Fold3. On the other hand, its potential no-show is based on talk of material LetsGoDigital has chosen not to reproduce.
In addition, Samsung may yet take the option of unveiling the phone at Galaxy Unpacked only to defer its release until later in the year - something also recently rumored to happen to the Galaxy Buds2 and Watch4. Of these wearables, the former is also now said to come in a neon shade in addition to others linked to the TWS peripherals earlier.
