The Oppo K13 Turbo series has brought the concept of the actively-cooled smartphone to more users in 2025. Like the more premium RedMagic 10S Pro before it, the devices have active fans built into their camera humps, with a vent to 1 side on the mid-frame.
Another brand is thought to release a device with similar technology in the near future. Its approach to active cooling differs from that of Oppo and RedMagic, according to a new leak.
Instead, Realme is now believed to integrate both the intake and exhaust of this "built-in AC" into the same part of the frame, found on the opposite side of the camera hump and much lower down.
The resulting smartphone looks like it could be a member of the pre-existing GT 7 series with an unusually large grille down 1 side.
Accordingly, the new kind of mobile active cooling might be easier to manufacture at scale compared to existing solutions.
It is apparently already rated to reduce a device's temperature by as much as 6 degrees Celsius (°C, or 42.8°F) nonetheless.
The date of Realme's inaugural air-cooled gaming smartphone remains unknown, although it is now backed to beat the brand's 15,000mAh handset to launch.
