Casio's G-Shock lineup is about to expand again it seems, this time with a full-metal model. Two months after it first surfaced, the GM-B2100SD-1C has now appeared in Japanese retail listings, confirming earlier leaks regarding a domestic launch in June 2025.
The GM-B2100SD-1C adopts the color scheme of the very first G-Shock - the DW-5000C. It has a black dial with a silver-tone steel case, giving the familiar GM-B2100 silhouette a retro-modern touch. According to the Japanese blog, Great G-Shock World, the model will be priced at around ¥84,700 (~$590) and could be among the first G-Shocks to go on sale globally via Japan, as is often the case with full-metal releases.
Feature-wise, the watch is no slouch. It’s equipped with Casio’s Tough Solar charging system and Bluetooth support for smartphone sync. It maintains the sharp, octagonal shape of the 2100 series, but with a polished finish and more intricate dial elements. While this isn’t a radical departure from earlier GM-B2100 variants, the shift to a positive LCD and the colorway should be enticing for collectors.
As mentioned earlier, we previously reported on this watch on March 5. It was part of a leaked trio alongside the MTG-B4000 and a GM-5600 Rui Hachimura collaboration model. At the moment, there is no word on global availability or a specific launch day, but given Casio’s rollout patterns, a broader release may follow the Japan debut within weeks.
