New affordable Xbox Pro controller with adjustable stick tension: Flydigi Vader 5S launches at $59.99

Flydigi has now released the Vader 5S wired controller for Xbox in the US after teasing it for the past week. Built around the Flydigi Vader 5 Pro, it's the company's first officially Xbox-licensed controller and will compete directly with other third-party options like the GameSir G7 Pro (curr: $79.99 at Amazon). Interestingly, it's priced much lower than the wired G7 Pro despite offering more pro-level features.
The Vader 5S is available to buy through Amazon or directly from the Flydigi website for $59.99. It also includes one free month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, valued at $29.99.
Xbox Pro controller at a budget-friendly price
The Vader 5S has a lot going for it, but the biggest highlight is its adjustable tension joysticks. Like the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, players can adjust stick resistance (between 40 gf and 100 gf) to adapt to different games, whether that's shooters or racers. The sticks also use Hall effect sensors to help avoid drift, something the more expensive Elite Series 2 lacks. On top of that, the Vader 5S adds Hall effect impulse triggers that can switch between a micro-switch mode for quick-fire shots or a full-range mode for more precise control.
Up front, the controller gets an improved d-pad and clicky mechanical ABXY buttons, along with two extra C and Z buttons that could come in handy in fighting games. There are also additional LM and RM shoulder buttons, plus M3 and M4 back paddles, all of which can be customized through Flydigi's Space Station software or adjusted on the fly. By comparison, the GameSir G7 Pro offers four extra buttons and lacks adjustable stick tension. That said, the Vader 5S also adds more rumble motors in the grips and supports one-touch wake for Xbox consoles.
Compatible with Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles, the Flydigi Vader 5S is now available in the US for $59.99, around $20 cheaper than the wired GameSir G7 Pro and a whopping $140 less than Microsoft's own Xbox Elite Series 2 controller before discounts.
