The latest version of Garmin Connect could soon be available publicly. The update arrived as a closed beta program in January, when only “select customers” were given access to the upgraded app. Now, a report from the5krunner citing their regular source @JW suggests that an open beta phase could begin in the next four to six weeks.
Since the launch of the new Garmin Connect Home Page, there have been several minor changes to the design and wording, but the refreshed layout is predominantly the same. The page is split into various sections, which you can customize to prioritize the data that you find most important. At the top are Today’s Activity, a summary of your daily exercise, and In Focus, with large swipeable tiles showing detailed information like Training Readiness and Sleep Score. Next is At A Glance, with smaller tiles for lower priority metrics. At the bottom are Events, Training Plans and Challenges to help you keep on track to reach your goals.
Several screenshots from the brand and a video on the Garmin Croatia YouTube channel (below) show a preview of the app’s design and functionality. Currently, the chosen customers are invited to join the closed beta in the app’s settings, with some reporting a pop-up on opening the app. It remains to be seen precisely when Garmin will offer more users the chance to test the new version of Garmin Connect or when it will roll out publicly.
